List of Blood Markers to be Included in Blood test

For your ease of reference, you will find below the blood tests that I would like you to do.  Just be mindful that the doctor you choose might not want to include all these tests as they are vetted closely by Medicare.

  • Complete Blood Count
  • Liver Profile
  • Iron Profile
  • Electrolytes
  • Protein, albumin and globulin
  • Kidney profile
  • Fasting glucose, HbA1c and if possible fasting insulin levels\
  • Cholesterol profile
  • hsCRP and ESR
  • Amylase and Lipase
  • Serum B12 and Active B12
  • Homocysteine – While most doctors do not normally do this test, please ask for this marker as it really provides me more insight for nutritional intervention, methylation issues, and cardiovascular disease risk.
  • Serum Folate
  • Vitamin D
  • Serum Zinc and Copper
  • Selenium
  • H. pylori  if have gut issues, especially gastric reflux
  • Coeliac disease – antibodies and genes – if have gut and mood issues
  • Thyroid profile including fee T4 and T3 and autoantibodies – While most doctors only do TSH, these other markers provide me with a more in-depth clue into thyroid dysfunction.
Once I have received the results, either by email or downloaded  onto the File section of your patient portal, if you have also booked an appointment (and don’t forget to press the “<” button to share), I will prepare a comprehensive functional blood chemistry analysis report.  This report will then be either emailed  back to you within 48 hours, or  I will go over the results (that you will ultimately receive) at a pre-booked consultation where  I will  offer diet, lifestyle and supplement recommendations.

If you choose not to go to a doctor, you can order individual tests or a combination of a few tests to cover the markers necessary.  Provided below are some of the essential tests you might decide to order.  If you do decide to purchase these tests yourself via the link provided, the results will come to you, not me, so you will need to attach the results to an email so that I can collate the data for the report.
The first three tests include many of the essential markers.  If you are post-menopausal, you might choose to forgo the Well Woman Check and just opt for the Blood Chemistry Check instead.

Q & A

Q: I have just read your list above, and I was wondering if I could include any other blood markers that are not on the list?  What if I have a particular condition, or am frightened that I could have a certain disorder that I have researched, the symptoms of which appear to resemble my own?
A:  The markers listed above are not the only ones that you can include.  Below, I will provide a list of all the markers that the report can handle.  However, I want to stress, that most doctors are confined to what markers they can order.  I have only knowledge of what happens in Australia, so I cannot answer confidently for the rest of the world, but here Medicare closely vet the doctors and they can be penalised or at the very least given “a rap on the knuckles” if they often include too many markers, or if the markers selected cost Medicare too much money

Testimonial

Celia provides a very personalized and inspiring service which in my case has been a complete success. Her knowledge is extensive and her treatments based on what I consider to be very astute research, the purpose of which she is more than happy to explain to her patients. In my opinion, ridding a patient of decades long malnourishing habits and repairing the consequential damage is an extremely difficult task, but Celia’s passionate and carefully considered approach to my situation made me confident from the outset that some improvements could be had and in a matter of a few months has resulted in my new found symptom free condition.
