Nurturing Environment
Welcome to our Clinic.
I have always believed that when someone comes to a health clinic, that they be surrounded with a sense of calm, friendliness and warmth. As they are concerned about their health issues and are already stressed, it is important that they find themselves in a nurturing environment.
There have been several times in my life where I have gone to a health professional only to leave in tears or anger. I was not heard, thought of as a hysterical female, or not considered intelligent enough. I felt I was just a number and possibly just a meal ticket.
I don’t want that for you. I want you to feel that finally someone is taking your symptoms seriously, listening to you, and taking the time to explain and educate what could be going on. I know that sometimes this means the sessions are a bit longer, but if it serves the purpose of making you more comfortable and confident in the process, it is well worth it.
Such environments can foster good will, collaboration and compliance. I consider them to be a necessary element in promoting good health and positive self-regulatory behaviour and development.
Furthermore, being a naturopathic clinic is should, and hopefully does, comply with the foundations of the profession.
